Last week

This week was taking in feedback from other students/play testers, and changing the game slightly to incorporate all that feedback.

There were some parts of the game that people found far too challenging, so they were modified to be a bit easier as shown below.

The end of this section in level 3 had a white wall and platform placed near the final green platform so players did not have to repeat the whole section if they fell off. This is of course slower, so in a game about speed you would prefer to still use the green platform if possible.

This final section in level 2 had another one-way platform added as a lot of players struggled to make it to the top of the climb. As you may have noticed there are also green flags placed in both of these screenshots. These flags are new and indicate the location of a checkpoint, which was also a feature asked for by other students.

The testing form I made had a question asking if the game was fun. I was quite surprised to see how many people seemed to enjoy the game. The only real factor that people had an issue with was the difficulty the parts discussed in the above screenshots. There were some students that struggled with the concept of launching yourself with the projectiles, and were looking for enemies to shoot rather than attempting to launch themselves. Once they worked out what to do however, they seemed to progress fairly well. Another small piece of feedback was the change the colours of the indicator arrows to to brighter, clearer colour than the standard grey. This helps particularly in the final section, as those arrows are important to show the player in advance where they need to go.

In terms of bugs/glitches, there were not too many discussed. The main one that gets brought up is the timer in the transition screens still doesn't pause, but I have not been able to find a fix to this issue.
